This is absolutely heart breaking and brilliant on the way we need to re-think about “risk” and support people to have dignity in their final days. That will be better for them and the health and care system.

This is exactly what happened with the NHS and Cameron’s “cutting NHS managers” as well. The operational research / technical leaders *in* hospitals were cut - costs dropped & performance was ok for two years. Then fell off a cliff & can’t come back

This does seem to be a very big financial incentive to invite as many random people off the street into A&E as possible. Or at least direct as many ppl with minor issues at GPs to go to A&E for a “second opinion”

This is something that’s so clear when you look at the conditions people have in their 70s they are rly driving their ill-health (& heavy usage of system resources). Almost entirely cardio vascular and/metabolic. All to a lesser or greater extent preventable and manageable.
