While I was there, students ate tacos delivered to camp — meat and veggie options, of course. Musicians visited and performed some songs to the camp across the barricades. Students held a ‘teach-in’ discussing what the phrase “Palestine is the center” means.

I visited the NYU Gaza Solidarity Encampment last night to take archival footage of the space.

It was, as every encampment has been, an incredibly mellow community space, the concept of which continues to befuddle fascists juiced on individualism.

Watch how NYPD walk on NYU campus with riot gear, helmets, batons & zip ties ready to sweep & clear our NYU encampment this morning. A day after Linda Mills tells the community she 'we continue to explore ways to re-engage the protesting students.'

UPDATE: NYPD used a private company — Action Carting — to facilitate the early morning sweep of NYU’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment.

NEW: Footage sent to me from students at NYU whose Gaza Solidarity Encampment calling on their university to divest from death was swept early this morning.

NYPD response to student protestors was wildly disproportionate, deploying a sea of SRG, MFF, & a prison bus.

Breaking: 15 riot cops are watching NYU facilities workers throw out student stuff just now. Faculty were trying to stop them. Police threatened to arrest, and faculty had to run.

There are no pics/videos atm from the faculty because they were running for the lives.
