HJFMRI’s Clinical Research Center in Abuja, Nigeria, began vaccinations with IAVI’s Lassa fever vaccine candidate in a Phase 2 study funded by @CEPI. HJFMRI, w/ @WRAIR @ACEGID & partners in Nigeria have been working together to study Lassa fever & other diseases since 2014.

We investigated the presence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in #bats from Obafemi Awolowo University Nigeria, to shed light on potential public health risks associated with these mammals.

Typhoid exerts an untenable burden in Africa. We & other African bacteriologists and ID experts worked with International Vaccine Institute (IVI) to study the “Incidence of typhoid fever in 🇧🇫 , 🇨🇩 , 🇪🇹 , 🇬🇭 , 🇲🇬 , & 🇳🇬”. With this training, ACEGID's genomics capacity building effort has reached virtually all African countries.
