Over the next few months - as the Centre winds down - I hope there will be an opportunity to reflect, and to identify what comes next. The excellent Campaign to End Loneliness conference in February (which is still on!) will be an important opportunity for this to happen

This is sad news. Wellbeing is still under emphasised in UK and international policy making. Even after COVID, this remains true. What Works Wellbeing have gathered and summarised so much evidence on what works to make lives better, an important legacy to build on

Remembering the time I debated someone who argued that no one spoke English in town x

I noted that 98.9% of the people in town x spoke English as a first language

Psychological: the best way to motivate/engage human beings
Practically: the best (only?) way to individual & social progress

The last 10 or so times MS teams has refused to launch on the first go

A novel error message this time is that I'm not connected to the internet

'He spun elaborate conspiracy theories about the shooting, alleging that it was staged, grieving parents were acting and that the government was involved in the attack'

Some ideas are equivalent to a butcher selling rancid meat, & are unrelated to truth

While this was particularly relevant during lockdowns, it remains an overlooked negative experience

'in the 200 most disadvantaged lower super output areas in urban settings with the lowest levels of green space, 97% have no access to green space w/in 15 minutes’ walk from home'
