Carla Francome Do they have any safe bicycle parking now? When I was there last September, this is the best I found (and I asked at the reception).
Cllr Emily Kerr ๐ My only concern with the Coventry VLR is the capacity. How many passengers per hour per direction will it be able to handle? At 50 passengers per vehicle, a standard bus has more seats and needs no tracks (and is also 100% electric)
Coventry Green Party ๐ It's a pity I can't vote Green ๐ for Coventry City Council. No Green standing in my ward.

Cllr Emily Kerr ๐ Devondan Peter Brommer I think like most trams they would work on line of sight rather than conventional rail signalling. In other words it's driven as you would drive a car. So 3 min headways are perfectly possible.
The issue is the services under the track. If they all need moving than it's dead.
Christian Land-in-the-Valley~Hero-of-Stone๐ป Cllr Emily Kerr ๐ Luxtram According to Wikipedia, they have a passenger capacity of 422 per unit. Stuttgart U Bahn has 250 per unit, useable in double traction as well.
Devondan Cllr Emily Kerr ๐ Peter Brommer It would offer all the advantages of fixed infrastructure together with the many advantages of steel wheels on steel track rather than rubber on tarmac
Devondan Cllr Emily Kerr ๐ Peter Brommer Same speed as every other on street tram system.
BicycleBen John Grant Coventry City Council Coombe Abbey Park Transport for West Midlands I once ran from Coventry to Coombe Abbey and back. Outwards via Ernesford Grange, Brandon Woods, returning along John's route. Nice enough on foot, but would have been challenging on a bike.
