It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.'

'Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control ...

Human beings, vegetables or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.'

'I am happy because I want nothing from anyone. I do not care for money. Titles or distinctions mean nothing. I do not crave praise.

The only thing that gives me pleasure, apart from my work, my violin and my sailboat, is the appreciation of my fellow worker.'

Quantum pioneer Niels Bohr was known as brilliant, soft-spoken, and absent-minded.

Once, during a lecture, he wanted to dim the lights. He pressed the wrong button, and the platform on which he was standing lowered until he sank beneath the stage.

Nonetheless, he kept talking!
