There's a lot going on in Cicero's On The Nature Of The Gods. Here's a piece about that work, and more specifically about arguments for the existence of the gods made by the Epicurean and Stoic, then criticized by the Skeptic

Sassy was a little cat with a big personality. That butterscotch blanket, which my grandma gave me as a kid and I've kept all these years, became one of her favorites. She loved getting up on the window ledge and watching the people and the birds (seagulls & crows) below!

I'd say, given my experience, that many faculty would do better than current college/university administrators on most of the matters they handle, not just crises like this particular one.

Eleven years ago, at Marist College, I was leading my Introduction to Philosophy students through the start of Hegel's Self-Consciousness section, spending a good bit of the class on the Master-Slave dialectic. Here's the video of the class session youtu.be/6Fi7g5Ncy5U

I cannot get over the unbelievable, industrial strength hypocrisy on the right over these campus protests. They have *for years* ginned up “free speech on college campuses” into a Big Issue. But as soon as groups on campus voice opinions they don’t like, those principles vanish.

Near the end of the conclusion to part 3 of his Prolegomena, Kant sets down some conjectures about the 'natural ends of reason's uses of transcendent concepts.' Here's a new Sadler's Lectures podcast episode about that!

Well, the story has now broke, which is good. The only way MIAD gets through this crisis is by the administration being far more transparent. One bit missing from this first story: the Vice President of Academic Affairs suddenly 'retired' on April 16

I lightly edited and republished a piece previously in my Medium in my Substack where anyone can read it. The highest good in Plato is impersonal, but does that mean to attain it, we leave our personalities behind?
