As an artist in my own time and an engineer in an AI-adjacent field, I can say that this is a perspective that's been missing from the tech scene.
Training AI models on openly available data is one thing, but creating models of specific artists without their consent is not okay.

Noticing a huge split in reactions to my Op-Ed between near-unanimity by astronomers that proprietary periods are important, and non-scientists who don't understand why public access and moving science as fast as possible isn't more important than the needs of astronomers.

Sometimes I find it just very difficult when I know I can't rely on someone else to do what they said (freely) they would do.

I stumbled upon this article and I have some serious thoughts.

TLDR, the article is shit and Musk raising awareness of autism by existing as an autistic public figure is very bad, because Musk is a terrible representation of autistic people.
