Yet more vivid reminders of the evil carried out in the name of fascist dictators like Putin. He must be stopped.

Exactly this point - losing a container vessel and seeing people killed because we felt it didnt pass the vfm test is not a good outcome.

The 2023 CDS RUSI speech is a fascinating insight into the challenges facing the MOD.

Pinstripedline analysis on the budget crisis facing MOD and asks if it is time to scrap the Carrier to focus instead on NATO.

In an FOI that essentially says nothing at all, Vice Admiral (REDACTED) has been replaced by Cdre (REDACTED).

Given 3* appointments are public record, this seems a slightly unusual approach to protect names!

In 2021 - 2022 a total of 80 Warfare Officers left the Royal Navy - just 27 (approx 35%) were due to planned time expiry.

46 officers (approx 57%) of departures were unplanned due to voluntarily leaving the RN. This will cause long term gaps throughout the system.

Some great MOD FOI details out today.

The average RN Warfare Officer has a 3% chance of promoting to Rear Admiral, and will be expected to serve 5 years in that rank.

An interesting insight into brutal attrition as the pyramid thins!

Great example of interoperability with allies. But equally worth recalling that unlike until just a few years ago, the UK no longer keeps an RFA tanker deployed in the region.
