In 1962, we organized sit-ins to end racist policies at the University of Chicago. In '63, I was arrested protesting segregated schools. But we were right.

I’m proud to see students protesting the war in Gaza.

Stay peaceful and focused. You’re on the right side of history.

An anecdote passed down to me: once when the New School was occupied by students, members of the grad faculty met in a hotel room to decide what to do. When the police were mentioned, Hannah Arendt said, *in German*—'you never call the police.'

Columbia University Prof. Marianne Hirsch joins Linsey Davis to express her disappointment with the university's decision to authorize the NYPD to go on campus amid ongoing protests: 'I think they're being treated like terrorists rather than as our students who we care for.'

This piece by my UCLA colleague, Prof. David Myers, accurately describes what I also witnessed on UCLA's campus on Sunday. To keep the peace, we both put ourselves between some pro-Palestinian protesters (who were mostly disciplined and non-confrontational) and a small…

A thing I think about a lot: the main issue on campus when I was at UChicago was a push by activists to have the university open a trauma center, partially to help shooting victims. Much discussion about how unworkable and moronic it was. Anyway, it's been open for six years now.

My first academic year at Rochester goes out with a bang: ended my Modern European Thought class with Andreas Malm’s manifesto for vanguardist eco-sabotage, linked to earlier readings by Marx & Fanon, with the UR Gaza encampment holding out strong just outside my classroom window

The goal of Princeton's 'Popular University for Gaza' is to create spaces for education. On day two of the protest, Razia Iqbal writes, the lawn had the feeling of an urgent, edgy, talky, relaxed festival.
