I really welcome this. We have run campaigns about trains for years and while they are important to a lot of people, for most people outside London, buses are the primary public transport system - if not the ONLY one available to them.

At tonight's #Labourdoorstep in Bournbrook & Selly Park for Jamie Scott, I canvassed a gentleman who reminisced about Percy Shurmer, Labour MP for Sparkbrook 1945-59. He remembered Percy as a kind, caring man who helped his family with their housing: someone who made a difference.

Interesting curiosity of British politics that while the Tories have won most elections since the start of the 20th century, all three of the landslides won from opposition were anti-Tory ones (1906, 1945, 1997). And this year, too, probably.
