The British Govt made no secret of the fact that this legislation was primarily about delivering commitments to protect army veterans from prosecutions. This core objective is shattered in light of todays judgment by Justice Colton! The Legacy Act should be repealed immediately!

This is great result for the many men and women who were unlawfully interned without trial. Some of whom were also wrongfully convicted for escaping/attempting to escape from their unlawful custody!

I said goodbye to two great men this week - David McCafferty, father of David, only 15 when shot by a British soldier at Springhill 1972 & Steve Hobbs, a friend & former staff member at Ó Muirigh Solicitors. Both had an irrepressible spirit and never gave up the demand for truth! RIP 🙏
