Today’s budget announcement of $200/ month for the Canada Disability Benefit makes clear yet again how the Feds feel about disabled people. CERB was $2000/month with no questions asked but for disabled people unable to work -$200?!! And you must have the DTC? Absolute disgrace.

Actually, I can: this is worse than my worst case scenario.

Not only is it not enough, using the DTC will gatekeep the benefit from SOOOO many people.

My heart goes to the people living in poverty who will have to keep fighting everyday to survive.

Where is the advocacy here? How can this legislation still not be proclaimed? Ppl with intellectual disabilities are being paid slave wages. If we did this to any other equity seeking group there would be outrage. Shameful.

FWIW, the Housing Accelerator Fund is pretty squarely in the federal spending power & a far better alternative to creating clunky, dumb & complex performance bonuses based on local construction/occupancy. 1/n
