Doctors are actively being replaced by an undertrained and unregulated non-prescribing workforce. There is now no job security for doctors - they face unemployment whilst patients struggle for appointments, forced to see an assistant.

The current reality for doctors:

Hospitals plugging doctor gaps with PAs who can’t do half of what a doctors does (and can’t safely do 90% of what a doctor does)

The result is double the work for the doctor + increased risk on their medical license with every shift

We wouldn't take a puppy from its mother at birth because it's considered an inhumane way to treat an animal and is illegal.

Time for the Royal Colleges to say that NO trainee should be responsible for supervising PA’s. Why should they take responsibility for this ridiculous experiment? Let’s move instead to named Consultant supervisors with legal responsibility. Let’s see how long it lasts then!
