It’s going to take me a long time to fully process “True Detective: Night Country.” This show was incredibly integrated thematically, with the writing, acting, design, music, editing all telling a complex and fascinating story. So much to dig through. 2nd watching coming up.

Just saw “American Fiction.” It had the strangest tone that just didn’t serve the material. The satire was the most interesting and pertinent thread, but it was played down like they were embarrassed by it. You know you're in trouble when there’s an easy-listening jazz score.
