Fresh fruit and veg are not the economically smart choice when you’re looking at calorie content per £, so if you’re buying food for the week and you’ve got £5, are you buying strawberries, a cucumber and some bananas, or 5 pizzas? What’s going to keep you full longer?

They have no recourse to public funds until their asylum application is granted, which often takes years.
