I'm going on WJZ | CBS Baltimore today to talk about this Goucher College story right after I go to the Baltimore County, MD work session. Nice to walk to work and do TV from my basement.
Abolitionists founded Goucher College. But the land was once part of the Hampton Plantation, one of Maryland's largest. The college has been using its origin story to teach about history. Prez says it's what colleges SHOULD do. The Baltimore Banner

Love all these small towns getting eclipse traffic! My daughter went to Erie, saw nothing, then went to somewhere near Cleveland. Heard Meadville also getting a boost, and Allegheny College is making t-shirts. Anything the forwards the love of science and respect for our sun!
When talking about renaming, it's not just about whether the individual enslaved other people. It's about the totality of his life. Frankie's got skeletons. Read John-John WilliamsIV's latest.

I just watched Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion with my 12-year-old. Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow are so much fun. Great actresses and comediennes. I'd love a sequel!
On top of the Ben Franklin Bridge with the Pride of Milwaukee, my Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) buddy Chuck Quirmbach. 12 miles done.
With Michael Mann who is a gutsy a prof as you’ll ever meet and one of my idols and also a hell of a nice guy. And Meaghan Parker who is also one of my idols. Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ)
My new The Baltimore Banner photo, by the amazing Kirk, who has photographed celebrities and rogue dictators and captured my harried working-mom self. Headed to Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) in Philly and looking forward to connecting with my people. I love being among journalists again. I missed it.
I live in a neighborhood with a Key descendant a Lloyd descendant (family Key married; they owned Frederick Douglass). A neighborhood in which I could not have bought my own house 50 years ago because of racial covenants. In Md, the past is barely past.
