Very exciting to hear from Tom Forth at Data Driven today! I did have flashbacks to waiting for buses up to Headingley though πŸ˜‚

And, with my UBDC hat on, having publicly available historical bus location data would be great!!!

Thanks James Thomas and Eddie Wilson for your presentation! This is a dataset I want to explore properly.

Really great to see the case study where you used your analysis to feed into the consultation on changes to the MOT

This is more than a year old but just came across it. So cool to see this use of open data with reproducible code. Would have been impossible even 5 years ago, easy to forget how fast these communities are developing πŸš€

So many rewarding things about building in the open. One of the biggest is the sense of 'Wow I did it' you feel when new contributors get involved πŸ— Being involved in building things by the community + for the community can feel amazing πŸš€

Our paper (with Ewa Dobrowolska) in Scientific Reports on the design of the 'Quality of Life Index' (QOLI) based on OpenStreetMap data is already online! Easy to replicate in R (see Github), powerful in checking if a city is '15 minutes city'.

No THAT's a strategic network plan: great to see the high level overview and *connected* plan that goes to all major settlements. not enough for good transport planning, knowledge and experience vital, but can help, e.g. to prioritise routes along those corridors.

Active Lives figures out today show, year-on-year, one million more adults are walking, wheeling & riding to get from A to B.
More people building activity into their day = less people off work, less GP visits and a greener future. It’s a win-win investment in the future. πŸ‘πŸ‘

As someone who does a fair amount of geocoding, this is awesome. Not checked ArcGIS API key info but plan to be doing so soon!

It's pretty simple: Cities that want more people to bike shouldn't force cyclists to ride alongside fast cars.

'Substantial speed differentials between bikes and motor vehicles are a barrier to bike riding.'
