A whole bunch of new Brexit red tape is about to land on us in the next fortnight, making food harder to import and pushing up prices again, and yet itā€™s hardly being talked about because, you know, mentioning the ā€œBā€ word is impolite.

Itā€™s clear now that Trump and his supporters care far more about harming Ukraine than reaching any deal on the border. They are choosing Putinā€™s interest over the USā€™s. Now people might realize you cannot support Trump and Ukraine at the same time. Itā€™s impossible

The Daily Mail continued to publish articles - like this one by the reliably wrong Melanie Phillips - well after the scare stories about the MMR vaccine had been scientifically debunked.

The Daily Mail bears a large share of the blame for the resurgence of measles.

Iā€™m old enough to remember when we were told that we needed to vote for Brexit to save the steel industry in Britain. How did that one work out?

I agree The Traitors is good, but Claudia Winkleman is ridiculous on it.

My whole family laugh at her whenever she attempts to be serious and menacing... which is all of the time.

Anyone else feeling this?

The one redeeming feature I thought Johnson had, his support for Ukraine, just casually abandoned. No matter how low the bar, Johnson will be a squalid disappointment. A worthless man.

Worth noting that one conversation I had in Brussels earlier in the week was puzzling over the upbeat talk coming from Labour, wondering about its basis. We have of course seen such UK optimism turn out to be overly ambitious before during the whole Brexit saga...

Iā€™m supportive of this (the Rwanda scheme doesnā€™t work) but even if it is negotiable there would be some v material T&Cs (eg some form of burden sharing, data, governance etc). The piece also mentions a new trade relationship I donā€™t think that works w/out dynamic alignment.

Boris Johnsonā€™s endorsement of Trump, disregarding all else, in some vain desperate bid to reinvent the man as some potential foreign policy guardian angel is beyond naive

It is disgusting and despicable

His ā€œdeal-makingā€ attributes would push Ukraine to cave and concede
