There is a lot of notices, fear, consultation, misinformation floating around the Columbia ecosphere this morning. But in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment there is also oases of calm. And music.

This rampant Islamophobia is unacceptable. My sister Ilhan Omar is standing up with the students peacefully demanding a Ceasefire to end the bombing, starving, and killing of Palestinian people. No amount of hatred is going to stop this movement for peace.

Taking the doctors fills me with a rage and sorrow that I can’t quite describe. These are monstrous times. Free Palestine.

I am irate over the impact of this heavy policing on communities who have experienced so much brutality and discrimination. So much DEI and Black Lives Matter talk and we just get war on terror and thick blue wall.
