Michelle lived in her Santa Monica apartment for more than 25 years when an unexpected mental illness left her unable to pay the rent. After several years on the streets, she secured a bed at SAMOSHEL, the city’s homeless shelter, where she got the resources and the care needed.

The Santa Monica Police Department arrested a man on Monday, April 8th, for threatening a lifeguard with a metal rod. The incident resulted in a brief closure of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
