More than one person whose known me has said I should do sex work

I am not against it on moral grounds! But I don’t know how I’d negotiate that AND being a therapist

This post is to acknowlege that sex workers are providing a care service that a lot of disabled people don’t…

I'm around a month behind on podcasts right now, but I listened to the shibari episodes of When We’re Not Hustling this week and they're so beautiful. They really capture the things I love about rope work both as a top and a bottom.

As an atypical person myself, I love spending time with my neurodivergent clients. I honor the fact that this work is not only ancient, it is NECESSARY for humankind.🙌🏼

“Every creature alive, just about, is capable of being soothed by touch, he says. It’s just a tragedy that it’s not addressed. The work that sex workers are doing is really important and should be celebrated.”

I talk about this with my clients all the time. I'm autistic and also come from a family that does not show physical affection. I went my entire life having never experienced any kind of soothing touch (let alone any sensual touch). My body would recoil from touch...

As someone diagnosed with and as an adult, I see BDSM as potentially therapeutic for those who are neurodivergent. Its focus on sensory experiences, intimacy, and direct communication aligns with the nuanced ways I experience and interact with the world.

This is a really touching article showing a side of sex work that I'd bet most of us (myself included) don't often consider...

Because I am open about my autism I get a lot of neurodivergent clients and it’s a vital service for them and other disabled people to live a fulfilled life. Sex work doesn’t need to do any of this to be valid work but I do love this specific part of my work a lot ❤️

A much needed article on the empathy & care we provide to our clients
I've had this discussion with lifestylers who ask why I'm a Pro. Because we are needed in this often uncaring world. We provide human connection where it may be needed most
Not everyone desires to be lifestyle

Aussie Rachel NYC ✡️🍒 I love how 'Ethan' states the impact of a lack of intimacy:

'To have no sensual outlet, to never be held, to never be cradled, to never feel safe within his own skin in the way that one does when they’re in an intimate connection with somebody else.”

This is a beautiful article about care for disabled adults

“Sex workers show demonstrable, concrete results. Their currency is the currency of human happiness,” he says. This can be a hard sell in a culture where sex workers are marginalized, stigmatized, and criminalized”

Nicely written Jessie Sage

I’m a former therapist who started my sw career working with adults with disabilities.

It’s a necessary conversation that is just not happening in Canada.
