To mark next Sunday's National Fishing Remembrance Day, we are highlighting a Victorian memorial: 'In loving memory of our dear son William Wood who was unfortunately Drowned by the running down of the Boat 'Ellora' on the Norfolk Coast on the 29th October 1890, aged 23 years'.

These peacock worms by Edinburgh Trinity Sea Cadets are so colourful #ForthFriday #100Species . 'We're fascinated by peacock worms! We found that they are fan worms and live in the sand in tubes... Peacock worms have feathery tentacles, which they use for feeding'. #exhibition

On Saturday 20th April, 2024 Iane Duncan (centre) , who has been Secretary to the SFM Model Boat Club since its formation in 2008, was presented with a certificate awarding him Honorary Life Membership of the Club.

This metal stencil was used to mark barrels of herring. Herring was packed in barrels with salt to preserve them, and the barrels were then sealed and marked with the details of their contents. Cormack's was a curing yard established in Pulteneytown, Wick, in the late 1800s.

Excitement building down at Anstruther RNLI this morning - 4 hours to go!
