We've been looking forward to welcoming back Yolande Kenny to our Merchant's Room for a while now. 'Seasons in the East Neuk', captures everything from stormy winter seas to sunny summer days, celebrating our busy and colourful coastline throughout the year. It's free to see!

These peacock worms by Edinburgh Trinity Sea Cadets are so colourful . 'We're fascinated by peacock worms! We found that they are fan worms and live in the sand in tubes... Peacock worms have feathery tentacles, which they use for feeding'.

Happy May Day! A new month means a new exhibition in our Merchant's Room but there is still time to catch Helen Butler of buff.ly/3TJ4lbA with her 'Eclectic Collection' display until it closes on Friday afternoon. Helen recently painted this to raise funds for Oban RNLI Lifeboat

Not all the in the live in the sea. This is the Red Knot. This wading bird sports a brilliant brick-red chest and belly in summer. They are vulnerable to rising sea levels and human disturbance. See this and other artworks at our exhibition.

This is the Dinoflagellate.
This embroidery by Kathleen Wilson shines a light on this microscopic phytoplankton. This single-cell organism is an important link in the marine food chain. Come and see our temporary exhibition by Edinburgh Shoreline

This metal stencil was used to mark barrels of herring. Herring was packed in barrels with salt to preserve them, and the barrels were then sealed and marked with the details of their contents. Cormack's was a curing yard established in Pulteneytown, Wick, in the late 1800s.
