I’m sorry but this is not new. Social care has been slowly decimated over (at least) the last 10 years. It’s hanging by a thread now- ask any charity working in the frontline/community and any unpaid carer.

2/2 ... Alongside dementia, we forget about those in advanced stages of Parkinson's, that they too are deserving of treatment & care that promotes wellbeing, quality of life. We forget about those that care for them, paid & unpaid - the support they require. We must do better 💙

1/2 #Parkinsons is increasingly present in #carehomes . It has also been a huge presence in my life since my mum was diagnosed at 49...16yrs ago. There isn't enough holistic & timely support for people living with Parkinson's, we focus too much on cure & early intervention...

Pleased to see the start today of the legal right to 5 days unpaid #CarersLeave but we can and should do so much more for #unpaid carers who contribute so much to our society. Well done to Wendy Chamberlain MP for achieving this.
