Amazon's adaptation of Fallout clears the 'does this game work as a TV show?' bar. The 'good TV show' bar proves tougher, despite some fun elements and a good Walton Goggins villain performance. My review: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

I really liked HBO's adaptation of The Sympathizer, with a terrific performance by Hoa Xuande as a double agent in the aftermath of the Vietnam War: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

Next week's premiere of Amazon's Fallout gave me an opportunity to speak again with one of my favorite interview subjects, the loquacious Walton Goggins: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

The Talented Mr. Ripley is such a masterpiece, it seems pointless to tell that story again. But Netflix's Ripley series, starring Andrew Scott, finds a new, thrilling approach to the material, and its black & white photography is stunning. My review: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

Apple’s Sugar begins as one kind of show — hard boiled PI Colin Farrell — and then a VERY late twist turns itself into something else entirely. I like both shows, but the timing is awful. My review: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

I really like Diarra from Detroit, a comedy/mystery/romance mash-up now streaming on BET+, particularly as a showcase for creator/star Diarra Kilpatrick. My review: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…
