In 2023, a lot of people said that prompting wasn't worth learning.

That AIs would 'prompt themselves' soon enough.

So glad I didn't listen.

After riffing on 1 prompt for 10+ hours over the last 2 weeks I can say with certainty:

A great prompt is 100x as useful as a bad one.

This is transformative change-making.

Led the first-ever all-campus panel presentation on Gen AI & higher ed yesterday. A joy to collaborate with 5 colleagues from across disciplines + one of my students. 171 people in attendance & we received encouraging feedback. May it be the start of many more rich conversations.

Without serious attention to library science, we would not have had massive research booms in this country. The growth of research institutions & grad schools in higher ed in the US is directly correlated to an increase in libraries & funding libraries.

👏👏👏 I don’t know if they’re ready for that conversation. “Post-COVID” students are different. If you haven’t been teaching in a classroom in the last 4 years, you don’t understand. Please listen to teachers.
