Twitter Web App : Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB numbers: Over the last 24 hrs we have identified 643 new cases & completed about 13K tests. Our positivity rate is about 5%. (1/4)

Twitter Web App : There are 691 people in hospital, including 115 in ICU. Sadly, 12 new deaths were reported over the past 24hrs. My condolences go to the families, friends & anyone mourning the loss of a loved one today. (2/4)

Twitter Web App : More than 1.5 million Albertans are now immunized against the flu.

That’s the most yearly flu shots in Alberta in the last 10 years and 201,390 more than this time in 2020.

Twitter Web App : As part of Alberta’s COVID-19 response, AHS continues to increase capacity across our healthcare system. Equipment is onsite and the Pandemic Response Unit at the Butterdome is ready and will open for patient use only if needed.

Twitter Web App : Overall occupancy in Edmonton-area hospitals remains high. We want to be prepared for all possible scenarios, these 100 additional inpatient spaces are part of our ongoing, proactive pandemic response planning.

Twitter Web App : If the Pandemic Response Unit needs to open to support patient care, it will be a phased approach, with a portion of beds opening first, with the ability to open more as required.

Twitter Web App : There are some who wish we would just give up our fight for pipelines, for oil & gas jobs, and for our broader energy sector.

Alberta will not surrender to those who want to landlock our energy.

Twitter Web App : There are no risk-free options w/ COVID, but our data indicates the current school model is largely effective at limiting in-school transmission. As of yesterday, 167 schools were on alert & 2 outbreaks declared w/ 252 total cases. Only 18 schools have had in-school trans. (2/5)
