Dvr Norman McKenzie - 11th April 1974

SEFF remembers Norman McKenzie who was murdered 50 years ago today by Provisional IRA terrorists.

Norman was a 25-year-old Driver within the Royal Corps of Transport.

#OnThisDay in 1986 the IRA attempted to murder by planting a booby trap, with a wire, at derelict flats in the Bogside area of Londonderry. A house was taken over by 3 IRA 75 yards away and an attempt was made to lure RUC/Army to the area. 10lb bomb was made safe by the army #OTD

SEFF remembers Joanne Reilly who was murdered by Provisional IRA terrorists on 12th April 1989.

Joanne was a 20-year-old Roman Catholic civilian, who was a shop worker and was working at a shop next door to the Warrenpoint RUC station.

#OnThisDay in 1989 the IRA murdered Joanne Reilly, 20. Catholic, only daughter, working at rear of a hardware shop, when murdered by no-warning bomb in stolen van left beside Warrenpoint RUC Station. 40 injured incl 9 RUC. Mum later called her one of the 'forgotten victims”. #OTD

David Harold Sinnamon - 11th April 1974

SEFF remembers David (Harold) Sinnamon who was murdered by Provisional IRA terrorists.

Harold was a 34-year-old Protestant, married with two children and who was a member of the UDR holding the rank of Sergeant-Major.

This all seems a bit shouty and Monty python to us Royal Navy types but who are we to argue with Army traditions ⚓
