A recent donation of Mah Meri carvings is on display in the Featured Objects Case on the second-floor balcony, through January 14.

The Mah Meri is one of the 18 ethnic groups of Orang Asli, or 'original people,' of Malaysia, with a more specific association with Carey Island.

The Spurlock Museum will be closed for university- observed holidays beginning December 22nd. We reopen at noon on January 2nd.

Did you know that the Spurlock is home to over 200 pieces created or collected by Julius Wallach, a German-Jewish expert on traditional European folk arts and textiles? These miniatures represent a variety of folk clothing styles from Europe from the late 19th and early 20th c.
