It’s hard to comprehend that it has been 10 years since Luke Batty was killed and despite efforts domestic & family violence remains a national crisis but there were moments of hope in Rosie’s speech at the National Press Club today. Always a privilege to listen to Rosie 🧡

Great piece by Dr Kathryn Daley - I just wish politicians nationwide would listen to the experts and the evidence. Punishing young offenders further stigmatises already traumatised and disadvantaged people. The tough on crime rhetoric is political grandstanding and it doesn’t work 😔

The fatal toll of violence against women in Australia rises again …

Victoria Police have discovered a woman’s body in a bin today. This comes one day after a woman’s body was found in a car boot in NSW.

It is hard not to feel completely overwhelmed by the scale of the crisis.

The outcome I feared but desperately hoped would not be the case …

Men’s violence against women in Australia is a terrifying reality for women in their relationships, in their workplaces, and in public spaces.

First Nations women do not just fade away from their homes, families & Country. They are brutally disappeared. The term ‘missing’ in the disappearance of our women brings with it a pattern of inaction – inaction by those with the power & authority to prevent this from happening
