Middle Grade might be suffering right now but it's always necessary.

The MG discourse lately is brutal, esp with a new manuscript I’m about to start querying. We NEED books for MG-aged readers. I hated reading until I discovered a MG series at 9 that opened a door to reading & writing. It changed my life. Without MG, how will kids become readers?

If you stop buying middle grade books, stop stocking them in your stores, and stop investing in them, who is going to be reading your YA books in 5 years?

I'm completely tossing the new PB drafts. Just not happy with them. Going to try to brainstorm something different. In the mean time, reading more verse novels to try to get in the groove for my MG WIP. Waiting patiently for 'And then, Boom!' to arrive. Not in the best place :-(

I'm ready to throw my computer out of the window. Hate the two new PB drafts I wrote, can't get going on my MG WIP, and words just are not flowing in general for open calls I want to participate in. So frustrated.
