So farewell The Now Show and thanks for a quarter century of sheer topical quality joy. Goodness knows how BBC Radio 4 managed to lose you. You have never been needed more!

Once again children's movement in classrooms is getting some attention. We do need behaviour policies, but 'sit up straight and don't fidget' physically impedes their learning, so here's a section from my chaotic website about movement heppell.net/movement/defau…

If anybody has felt frustrated by Ofsted's 'Big Listen', you might like to know that an alternative survey is on its way. Margaret has been working on some more pertinent questions for the inspectorate.

Margaret's 'Bigger Listen but Shorter Survey' will be launching soon.

Elodie’s 8 year birthday is extending across the weekend. Tonight raclette - takes ages - conversation, crazy recipes, good nutrition, relatively few burns (!).

Here you go louise sears That an interview with Steve Wright we spoke about - he's so sadly missed. It was back in 1998 but I don't think I'd change a word today.

The BBC's Steve Wright has died - only 69 - & it is such a loss. I hugely enjoyed being a guest on his show (it's worth a listen) rubble.heppell.net/rnib/media/ste…
And in between the live bits he proved to be bright as a button and proper sharp. Genuinely enjoyed his company. RIP Steve

It's time we valued & celebrated our new Golden CoVID Generation, cherishing & accrediting their non-standard experiences. Solving tomorrow's unexpected problems depends on them. 'Back to normal' sees them as deficient - nothing could be further from the truth. They're precious.

This school-age CoVID generation, who've absorbed lockdowns, school closures & tragedy, mirror the evacuated generation from 1939. Their experiences created a postwar generation of inventors, musicians, designers, politicians who'd look beyond obvious to create extraordinary.

Much bluff & bluster around children absent from school. I'm reminded of our hugely successful affordable Notschool.net project. 3,000+ absent kids educated annually via an online community. Started in 1997 (!) Do read this notschool.net/origins.html

In 2010 uk government closed Building Schools for the Future - a programme to replace / redesign our crumbling schools. A world leading pool of considerable expertise was disbanded & lost.

I have been at every BETT show ever, but I’m missing :
and missing speaking to those huge Arena crowds, enjoying a whopping screen, having a stand, chatting on Learn.radio, etc. But enjoy it this year everyone and see you all again next year!

I was in your Cowdray Ave Colchester Dulux Decorator Centre today buying more paint (I buy a lot). On leaving I saw a 'reductions' display - painting dungarees L 31' reduced. £27.07 to £6.77. Sadly checkout man aggressively refused to sell me them (mispriced?). Could you rectify please?
