150 First & Second Years sat UK Maths Trust’s Junior #Maths Challenge. The national competition makes pupils use their #mathematics in a different way.

Year 4 had a lovely day working with local artist Isobel Pickup. Isobel works primarily with #textiles & her sessions had the children working on pieces that fitted in with their Science topic ‘Animals & Their Habitats’. The children were very focussed & produced some lovely work

Thirty Lower Sixth students enjoyed tackling practical experiments as part of the Royal Society of Chemistry Schools’ Analyst Competition.

The scientists worked in teams of three to find the composition of everyday food items.

Three Year 2 children were invited to a #Maths Masterclass where they were encouraged to think strategically, spot patterns and ask complex questions whilst completing some challenging investigations.

The pupils had a fantastic day and can’t wait to share some of the challenges.

Second Years Anabelle Whereat & Lucy Barker were delighted to win the Greater Manchester County #Netball Development Division with their U13 Tameside Netball Clb teammates.

Following some strong performances they qualified for the final in which they defeated Rochdale Netball Club 33-29.

Fourth Year Daisy Birds is celebrating after winning the North West #Hockey League with Timperley Hockey Club U16s.

After the decider with #Preston ended 1-1, #Timperley won 4-2 on shuffles.

Lower Sixth rugby players Bradley Gleave and Ben Lavender enjoyed their time on the pitch on Sunday as they represented Cheshire RFU U17 in their 31-22 victory against Lancashire RFU.

Year 6 were delighted to practise their French oral skills with Louis, the Senior School’s #French Assistant.

Madame Carr asked them to learn 15 questions relating to topics they have covered over the last two years. Louis was really impressed with the pupils linguistic skills.

A number of Year 5 pupils attended a great English Masterclass Day where they enjoyed flexing their wordsmith skills through multiple warm-up word games & applying their knowledge & understanding of different genres to various creative writing stimuli.
