Massive brutal police repression of students. Called in by administrators. With the Biden Administration’s vocal support. All to protect a genocide. During an election year. Morally revolting and politically suicidal.

I used to feel like the Knicks were cursed. Now that they have Brunson, I just feel like they’re trying to enhance the drama.

“The Vietnam protest—-“

Were followed by Nixon becoming president, victory of Vietnamese national liberation forces, same neoliberal rev that happened around world, and same Third Way turn that happened in other center-left parties

Sounds like protests weren’t that causal?

i often think about:
a) the predominance of 'youtuber voice' now, i.e. people overclarifying to their audience in an attempt to mitigate angry responses
b) how much online media in general is driven by misreadings and mischaracterizations of other people

Compare his response with the always classy Maxey; “It’s no problem, we appreciate all the fans that show up. Our crowd is great.”

I've come around to the main argument here (the PMC is not a class), but it weirdly critiques a left that sees the PMC as a 'pivotal agents of transformation'. It doesn't seem to acknowledge the main critique from the left: the PMC is a barrier to mass working class politics.

It’s not just the ADL. There’s a massive NGO industry built around encouraging baseless fear and identity-based grievances.

Wish Alexander Cockburn was still around to write about episodes like these.

standing in solidarity with courageous students is not theater. the visit was not announced, no one in the media was notified she was going, and it was at the invitation of student organizers.

WATCH: I just spoke to UT students protesting for peace in Gaza.

'We must continue raising our voices, because no matter what Greg Abbott says, our movement is rooted in love.'

I wish we lived in a world where Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez challenging AIPAC and the rest of the lobby, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and showing up at a protest encampment was politically opportunistic.
