I am thankful to God for the opportunity I had to serve as the Principal Secretary Ministry of Health it has been a journey of great lessons.I wish my successors the very best as they move forward the ealth agenda.
I had a meeting with The Global Fund Country Team to review grant performance.Implementation of the grant in Kenya is on track.The Global Fund implementers are currently conducting a midterm review of the grant in order to align the funds with current realities.
Screening and early diagnosis is key in controlling breast cancer.Ministry of Health is continuously raising awareness on breast cancer and has made tremendous efforts in cancer prevention and control.
The launch of the Herceptin SC Access Program under the Ministry of Health NHIF Kenya and #Roche MOU is another first in cancer care access. Patients diagnosed with breast cancer will have access to this innovative treatment as long as they have NHIF Kenya cover.
Today's launch of the Kenyatta University Hospital (KUTRRH) Breast Care Centre of Excellence is a great stride in the implementation of the breast cancer action plan 2021-2025.The one stop centre will enable timely diagnosis and linkage to care for breast cancer patients all under one roof.
I emphasize the importance of youth friendly services as a critical tool in addressing HIV AIDS ,GBV and other issues that affect our youth.The Global Fund #7th Replacement Conference.
