In this unprecedented heat wave,as our staff are exhausted working day & night to ensure no harm to STR from forest fire, now 50 villagers have come forward on our request for fire control duty at Pithabata Range joining shoulder with team ODRAF.
Together we shall overcome 🙏🙏

It was a tough day for our fire fighters on the ground. 55 fire alerts were received in the sanctuaries,which was drowsed in scorching forty degree plus temperatures. Hundred percent response.

Conditions of two staff affected by sun stroke is stable.Praying for their recovery 🫡

Our green soldiers & team ODRAF are working in adverse conditions to keep the forest fire at bay.No part of the core or its adjoining buffer area is affected. Fire seen in areas near to villages in the fringe

Wildlife wing received 26 fire alerts in the Sanctuaries today. Happy to inform that our field staff with ODRAF, attended to all the points have extinguished them.

Spare a thought for these green foot soldiers,fighting the forest fire. They isolate the patch by cutting off the fuel(leaf) preventing the ground forest fire to spread & then extinguish it. Odisha doesn’t have crown fire.

Thrilled to share that villagers of Kendua village bordering Similipal, have nabbed 2 accused with 2 loaded guns last night while entering into Similipal for poaching.
