Heck Sarah Hart, Once Upon a Prime is making my bookshelves bulge & creak. The Luminaries itself is 1/4 of a shelf. Many thanks for writing OUaP & the recommendations therein. Wish more scientists/mathematicians could write as beautifully & with as great a sense of humour.

Highest ever NHS satisfaction levels?
2010, Labour government.

Lowest ever NHS satisfaction levels?
2024, Tory government.

After 14 years the Tories have failed our most valued institutions.

So they are taking away his walk (free and good for mental health) and saddling him with the ongoing running cost of a car. And they expect him to be grateful?!

Zurich. Why is it that cities with trams just seem nicer, more civilised? They tell you “this place is well-organised”.

This I've wanted to tell fellow cycle commuters already this week (but have bitten my lip):
- you've got your helmet on backwards
- chain lube is your friend
- your gears could make this hill easier
- saddle height can be changed
- new bar tape can be cheap and is lovely
