Privatisation of utilities & services was not a conservative act, it was a radical act of self-harm and to no small degree, an act of bribery, which only served those who ran them & who bought & held onto the shares. If it were connected to any political wing, it was liberalism.

All people living in free & open democracies are absolutely free to do whatever they want to, as long as it's entirely within the rules and no fuss or upset is caused.

Spineless politicians will always see large gatherings of people as a potential uprising in the making.

Add a drop of paranoia into the mix & the gloves come off & they will have no troubles in making decisions to send the heavies in.

This has been going on for centuries.

Executing people who have their hands & feet zip-tied is perfectly ok if they're evil people.

Lots of 'good' people genuinely believe this.
