Trump and his team are not playing for an acquittal. They're playing for a mistrial.
I believe Judge Merchan knows this or suspects it strongly.

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1992, the #LARiots broke out in response to the acquittal of the cops who savagely beat #RodneyKing . 32 years later, people are still pretending this isn't a #PoliceState . I suspect more like this will come along since folks refuse to learn from the past.
