Very sad to see that this will be the very last day for our friends Bristol Ideas. Established in 1992, they have been supporters of ours from the very beginning and have supported many a #SilentFilm event over the decades in #Bristol ! Good luck to everyone there! 👇
What a beautiful but bittersweet gathering.
The dissolution of an institution which was Bristol Ideas and a second home for me over the years.
A place of new, radical and thought provoking events, talks and debates.

“It’s in Bristol that I found my voice,” says David Olusoga at the celebration of Bristol Ideas as this inspiring festival closes after 30+ years.
A huge wave of appreciation and affection for director Andrew Kelly who says “I hope we have helped create a city of friends.”
📚 | Here is your sign to always meet your heroes. I was introduced to Jackie Kay by my therapist when I was struggling with my adoption and race identity.
Greatful for Bristol Ideas hosting her book tour 'May Day' so I could thank her in person. #adopteevoices

Thank you Andrew Kelly and all the team/board of Bristol Ideas for three decades of cultural vision & leadership and for giving a platform to so many people & ideas. You leave an amazing legacy in our city ❤️🙏🏽
New Tox Report! Charli XCX declares the end of nice, why 3 Body Problem is mildly disappointing, and a return to Vampire Castle. Plus, a big thank you to Andrew Kelly for his work with Bristol Ideas - and the importance of just doing the job sarahditum.substack.com/p/tox-report-4…

At Watershed for the launch of 'Our Project Was the City' today, to which I contributed a short piece on 👗 What The Frock! and helped edit the book. But also to say goodbye to Bristol Ideas, which sadly closed yesterday after 30+ years and literally thousands of events. A great loss.
Followed today by sadly saying goodbye to Bristol Ideas who I first worked with 25+ years ago and has done so much to shape n shake cultural activity in the city. David Olusoga here giving a flavour of its impact.
(But i suspect Andrew Kelly has more ideas up his sleeves….)
Great to attend Bristol Ideas farewell Watershed and so proud to see my article on my first writing break in 2015. Come the Revolution
For years, I've been a keen collector of #BristolBroadsides booklets. Broadsides was a radical publisher in the late-1970s and 1980s. So working on this oral history project for Bristol Ideas was a treat. Now published online: bristolideas.co.uk/read/bristol-b… #BristolHistory
Thank YOU Bristol Ideas and Andrew Kelly for the inspiration, connections and joy you’ve brought to Bristol over 30yrs. Too many memorable events to mention. We’ve been very fortunate to have you.
