Cangrelor in patients undergoing coronary stenting? Cangrelor is a P2Y12 inhibitor, as are clopidogrel and ticagrelor, but with quick on-off capability due to a much shorter half-life (3-6 minutes). CHAMPION PHOENIX Trial, NEJM 2013 ♥️

Our new position paper on #antithrombotics in #MI and cardiogenic #shock recommends:
- #cangrelor first line
- parenteral antithrombotics to cover the period before onset of action of oral P2Y12 inhibitors
- #prasugrel and #ticagrelor over #clopidogrel
