In lieu of #blackmaternalhealthweek my article of my birth story was published in today’s paper. I’m simply in awe and so elated that my story is continuing to be read and the importance of advocacy for black women in childbirth is being highlighted and shared. 🥹

That tweet was meant to bring awareness to the fact that when it comes to pregnancy & childbirth, things could go awry, planned or otherwise.

I’ve seen it with parents who have everything planned out but the child is born with birth defects that require so much care.
