We had a bit of luck yesterday & left a cheeky bid in an auction on 2 lovely watercolours by Hanslip Fletcher. The 1st of Gwydir Chapel & the 2nd of Dolwyddelan Church (burial chapels of the Wynn family of Gwydir). The year is 1896 & you can almost smell the dust on the panelling

Lovely day out today in Wales. Dolwyddelan Castle, Conwy and Llandudno were all looking magnificent and it was good to get some fresh air.

A drive through the scenic Conwy Valley Line as the trains are cancelled 🤦‍♂️

Visited a few stations along the way including Pont-y-Pant, Dolwyddelan, Roman Bridge and Glan Conwy

For #AdoorableThursday The old door complete with sanctuary knocker at St Gwyddelan's Church Dolwyddelan The church was built sometime around 1500 by Meredudd Wynne of nearby Dolwyddelan Castle replacing an earlier medieval building on a different site.

The magic that is Dolwyddelan

Aborted an ascent of Moel Siabod half-way up as the wind was horrendous. Turned out to be a pleasant walk from Capel Curig to Dolwyddelan. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️⛰️

Dolwyddelan #Castle #Conwy built in the early 1200s by Llywelyn ap Iowerth (whom it was said was born nearby). Much later in 1282 when castle fell into Edward I hands repairs were undertaken, the keep was heightened and a second rectangular tower was added. #Castle Saturday
