According to the European climate re-analysis dataset (ERA5), Earth's global surface temperature averaged 14.155 C during the 30-year period from 1981 to 2010: climatereanalyzer.org/clim/t2_daily/…
Note that this is much lower than the 15.0 C usually quoted in climate textbooks...

November 2023 was Europe's wettest November on record according to ERA5 reanalysis (since 1940) with total precipitation exceeding 1.5 times the 1991-2020 average.

To this point all heard the discussion about the emergency measures we are planing to save habitat, now we are back ⬆️ 2°C global temperature in ERA5 dataset? No? Me too!

This is ERA5 data, from a storm we got last year in Chile. Red columns are precipitation, horizontal plane is integrated water vapor. The semitransparent vertical plane crosses along Chile from Antartica to Colombia. You notice an atmospheric river reaching Chile and forcing 🌧️

April update: ERA5 data.
Looks like this will be the hottest April in the ERA5, JRA3Q and NCEP databases, by ~0.10°-0.15°C compared to 2016. Slightly higher variation than March, the question is what will UAH &RSS do?

ERA5 March data shows it's only +0.083°C hotter than the prior record 2016. Still the hottest March in the database, but we're slowly seeing temperatures moderate, probably BC El Nino is mitigating.
