The single most important election in a generation will take place in East Mids on May 2nd. It was great to show Mayor candidate Claire Ward for East Midlands Mayor and Police commissioner candidate Gary Godden around #Broxtowe to showcase how they can make a positive impact - a 🧵

We first visited the brilliant #CanalHeritageCentre in Beeston Rylands. They have transformed the area and have big plans for the future around growing the museum and working alongside the amazing #TrentARCH to boost culture, heritage and tourism in the East Mids. Kate Foale

We rounded the jam-packed day with a visit to flagship company Caunton Engineering. They are a brilliant advert for high skilled jobs with a great company ethos and a gold standard apprenticeship scheme. Just the sort of advert we need for employment in the East Mids.

It was a flipping cold day but the people and views certainly made up for it.
