I am amazed by this Hallicrafters SX-62 receiver. Here it is pulling in KCJJ 1630 in Iowa City with a 10 ft wire antenna. Yeah it's noisy as I have the IF bandwidth at maximum for best fidelity. It has 3 mormal bandwidth selections and 3 crystal filter selections.

Newest project. This surprisingly compact Hallicrafters S-38C from 1952 is a really nice little communications receiver, a low end unit in its day, which means gold tier build quality and reception in 2024.

Here's a radio I've been working on lately. Hallicrafters S22R. 'Tingle Proof' hot chassis. Originally, if you plug it in the wrong way, you get 120 volts AC on the antenna terminal. ⚡️The station heard is WG beacon in Winnipeg. Soon to be decommissioned.
