Arjun Kumar Āsurā First time I have seen some with the same reason as I believe. Indians by and large are dirty and messy. Different cultures but most do not promote cleanliness. In fact, even household toilets are unkempt, and spreading dirt in public is a subconscious thing.

Āsurā Because at the individual level, Indians are not uncomfortable with filth around them. No point blaming govts etc.

Saran Shanmugam You can dress up the 'Lalaji' in a suit or a sporty outfit, but he will remain a Lala. The facade won't last long.

Āsurā Arjun Kumar The belief that anything outside of my four walls is not my responsibility. Absolutely not. I will dirty it, soil it, spit on it, throw garbage on it. I will take vicarious pleasure while I do it. And it happens even around holy places. So, there you go.

Āsurā Complicated! Because at a basic level, we have been attuned to blaming everything on others while cleanliness starts with ourselves. At a subconscious level, we know that but refuse to acknowledge. Hence, wallow in dirt.
