My first Irises are blooming 😍
I actually had this one at a plantswap many years ago. Love the colours and it never lets me down 👌

For tonight’s flower full moon I chose this colourful painting as irises are in bloom everywhere at the moment and I love the big, round moon shining a bright light on the cathedral & its surroundings. Nighty night!

May Flowering Irises No 2 (1935), Sir Cedric Morris (1889-1982). The self-taught artist and horticulturalist was the only person of his generation to be recognised as both a painter and a plantsman. He raised numerous irises in his garden at Benton End, near Hadleigh in Suffolk.

I’ve been desperately missing my mum - who lives in New Zealand - during the pandemic. This week my garden turned into a meadow of white irises despite me never having had any in my garden before. Mum tells me that she quietly planted them the last time I saw her in December ‘19.
