For 50 years ballet and orchestra have received millions more than Te Matatini. Were these people also outraged all those years more was spent on sopranos and symphonies than swimming? Or is it just Māori performing arts they have a problem with 🤔

Te Mātārae i Ōrehu disbanding is a loss for the haka community straight up 😭 Everyone in my age group in the 2000s wanted to be in that roopu. Their performances were always a highlight for me at Te Matatini. Every single Matatini they performed at had a memorable item! Ka aroha
