William Beyond Limits ( mysteries abound here ! ) My Dad was an avid canoer. He would go portaging every summer with my Uncle. The French river was a frequent route for them. I miss my Dad. His canoe is still at the Cottage. I fell in love with kayaking in SiouxLookout. The hubby and I may purchase kayaks.
Casey Sherman (Verifіed Account) ❇️ I'm bitter towards eigenrobot and all Minnesotans because I was led to expect sunny hills covered with wild flowers and instead found one tiresome slog portaging from lake to lake with a canoe on my head while harassed by mosquitos bigger than birds.

Gen XYZ United 2024 🇺🇸🇺🇦🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ At least 5 times. Once when in MI portaging a canoe & backpacking one came into our camp we left in the canoe till it left. In Yosemite camping. Yellowstone 2 trips in our car. Once hiking in OR. Pretty sure they've been there other times but I make a lot of noise to avoid them
Jeanie “LadyEvil” Yea cause that would so damn unusual. Probably fewer than 5 million women in north america have actually been camping or portaging, often on their own or with another female.
Jeanie “LadyEvil” As a Canadian who enjoys portaging I have always appreciated that particular insult 😊
Shaun Meehan hey pal. I stumbled across your article on canoeing from st. Thomas to port and had some questions. Mainly, can you tube rather than canoe? I don’t mind paddling but the portaging of a canoe over and over doesn’t interest me lol
Jon Matzner Boy Scouts helps. Even the privileged seem to get a bit tougher at Philmont when backpacking close to 100 miles in the mountains or canoeing and portaging in the boundary waters. There’s no butler in the backcountry.
mswyrr (#fallout spoilers) THIS. Because it’s on the surface seemingly a simple addition, but it does so much heavy lifting when it comes to context and emotional character development and portaging flaws and insecurities.
The Hidden One It’s pretty cool:) I think EV Rieu broached that in the introduction his translation of the Argonautica. Apparently at one point they go up the Danube (the Ister) out of the Black Sea, and with all the portaging etc it could be seen they come out of the Baltic:)
